最成功的英倫新浪漫樂隊，也是英國史上最靚仔有型
的樂隊。他們的歌曲在商業及藝術上均可兼及，加上前衛的
衣著、髮型、俊朗外表和超大型製作的MTV配合下，其氣勢
在英國本土及全球均一時無兩。當年他們的一舉一動均是全
球Fans的焦點所在，特別是最型格的John Taylor(外表十足英
格蘭超聯球星碧咸，但Beckham屬剛，而John Taylor屬柔)，
其愛情生活均是英國小報的頭條，可想而知其受歡迎程度。
音樂方面，Nick一向是樂隊靈魂，其出色的作曲和電子合成器運用，製作出一首
又一首精彩作品。MTV製作也是樂隊成功的因素，為了配合大碟Rio的一系列在尼泊
爾拍攝的MTV和為大碟Seven and the Ragged Tiger的一系列科幻及高成本MTV製作令
人留下極深刻印象，甚至連今時今日也難看到那麼高水準的MTV製作。
最受歡迎的時期，曾演唱1985年007電影(A View to
a Kill)主題曲，又參與Band Aid的演出。之後John、Andy和
Tony Thompson、Robert Palmer組成即興樂隊Power Station及
後Simon、Nick、Roger又組成Arcadia均受歡迎。前者玩美
式搖滾，後者繼續玩Duran Duran風格，推出So Red the Rose
，可說是Duran Duran音樂和藝術上最出色的大碟。
私生活方面，他們可說是相當乾淨，毒品和女人都與他們沾不上關係，而且婚
後便立即「收心養性」，專心鑽研音樂，這些都是他們受歡迎的原因。
顛峰過後樂隊受歡迎程度便開始下滑了，Roger因
受不了繁忙的演唱會生涯而離隊，和愛妻在鄉村過其寧靜
生活。Andy幫樂隊製作1986年最後一張大碟Notorious後也
離隊，後來再補上二位新成員。可能因為當時新浪漫已到
尾聲，而且樂隊自Notorious開始，樂風漸趨向美式，所以
銷路和排行榜上都強差人意，雖然後來曾出過大熱作品Ordinary World，但和以前光輝
歲月相比，相去甚遠了。
1998年John離隊作個人單飛，成績也只是不過不失。前陣子
，John到台灣宣傳其新的個人大碟 ，看見其外表，真要慨嘆歲月不
留人，不過仍不失是個永遠的美男子。
目前樂隊只剩下三人，Nick, Simon和Warren Cuccurullo，雖然Duran
Duran已經越來越被人遺忘了，但他們在八十年代的世界流行樂壇上
曾經是英國人的驕傲呢。
