Body Count是1990年在美國加利福尼亞州洛杉磯成立的美國金屬樂隊。這個樂隊由Ice-T領銜，他們與主要吉他手Ernie C一起創立了樂隊，出於對重金屬音樂的興趣。 Ice-T擔當了歌手的角色，為大部分歌曲寫歌詞。主音吉他手Ernie C負責撰寫樂隊的音樂。他們有爭議的同名首張專輯於1992年在Sire Records上發行。

這首歌“警察殺手”是頗受爭議的話題。雖然Sire Records的母公司華納兄弟唱片公司（Warner Bros. Records）為單曲辯護，但是Ice-T選擇從專輯中刪除曲目，因為他覺得爭議已經使音樂本身黯然失色。第二年他們離開了陛下。從那以後，他們又發行了四張不同唱片的新專輯，其中沒有一張是他們的首張專輯。

樂隊原先的六名成員中有三名已經死亡：D-Roc死於淋巴瘤，Beatmaster V因白血病而死亡，另一名則是Mooseman。
